Sarah Barrie is a freelance journalist, blogger, and Latin Americanist with expertise in Hispanic culture, communications, and education. Sarah’s articles have appeared in various publications including Kesta Happening, The Fair Observer, and Hola Cultura. Formerly the Marketing and Public Relations Manager at GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington, DC., in August 2015, Sarah joined the Peace Corps where she served as a Youth Development Specialist in Cajamarca, Peru until September 2017. Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Spanish with a business concentration from Virginia Tech. She acquired her Master’s Degree in Spanish: Latin American Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Spanish Translation from American University in Washington, DC.
